UV-curable clear ink

DNP Fine Chemicals EC-X01 is a UV-curable, light-resistant clear ink designed to reduce fading and discoloration of prints. Compatible with JHF M5300 and M3300.

Clear ink is printed directly onto the printed surface to improve light resistance without a laminate film. It combines chemical resistance with stretchability for applications such as signs, posters, souvenirs and decorated molded items.

Features

Helps reduce fading and discoloration

The manufacturer reports that initial image quality and gloss were retained after accelerated exposure equivalent to one year outdoors. This does not guarantee an outdoor service life.

Chemical resistance and stretchability

The catalog evaluates resistance to wiping with a cloth containing 77 vol% aqueous ethanol, as well as neutral and alkaline detergents. The reported stretchability evaluation is 130%.

Gloss and matte finishes

Clear ink allows adjustment of the surface gloss. Available gloss and matte effects depend on the functions installed on the printer.

Evaluation conditions & notes

Information is based on the manufacturer’s development-product catalog dated February 1, 2021. Values are catalog evaluation results; actual results depend on the substrate, film thickness and irradiation conditions.

Light-resistance test: 63°C, 50% humidity, metal-halide lamp at 150 mW/cm² for 100 hours (equivalent to one year outdoors according to the catalog), compared using color difference.

Curing evaluation: adhesion-treated PET (Cosmoshine A4360), 20 μm film, 385 nm UV-LED, 0.08 seconds of exposure per pass. Contact us about curing settings and material suitability for your installation.
